Purpose of this site. This is the personal professional website of Prerna Mewawalla, MD. It provides educational and professional information. It is not a patient portal and is not intended for medical care, appointments, or the exchange of protected health information (PHI).
No PHI. Please do not submit health information, medical questions about your care, medications, or test results through this website. For patient care, use Allegheny Health Network's secure channels (MyChart or the office line).
Information this site collects. This is an informational website that does not ask you to create an account or knowingly collect personal information from visitors beyond the analytics described below. Aside from the speaking & media inquiry form and the contact links described in the next section, the site does not request or store information you enter.
Analytics. This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web-analytics service provided by Google, to understand aggregate website traffic and visitor engagement so the site can be improved. Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar technologies and may collect information such as the pages you visit, your approximate (city- or region-level) location, the source that referred you to the site, your browser and device information, and your interactions with the site. This information is used in aggregate to measure how the site is used and is not intended to identify individual visitors. Analytics are not intended to collect protected health information (PHI); please do not submit PHI through this website. You can learn more from Google's Privacy Policy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Forms and contact links. The only interactive form is the speaking & media inquiry form. When submitted, it opens your own email application with the information pre-filled and sends the message from your email account; nothing is transmitted to or stored on this website. Email and telephone links open your own email or phone application. Any message you choose to send is handled by your email provider and reaches Dr. Mewawalla directly.
Hosting logs. The website's hosting provider may maintain standard server access logs (for example, IP address and request time) for security and reliability. These logs are controlled by the hosting provider and are not used by this website to identify or profile visitors.
Third-party links. This site links to external resources (for example, Allegheny Health Network, Google Scholar, PubMed, ORCID, LinkedIn, X, VuMedi, and media outlets). Those sites have their own privacy practices, which govern your use of them.
